5 Ways to Conquer Demotivation

Have you ever thought what the point of life was? I mean you hustle, grind, and repeat the cycle the next day. What’s the point? Reading the book of Ecclesiastics doesn’t provide any consolation, but at least I know I’m not alone!

There are times when I feel demotivated and just meh! Especially when it’s close to that time of the month! If you can relate comment below! Here are a few things that I do to motivate myself to get out of that mood!

1.Recognize that you are Having those Feelings

Self-awareness is KING! You know your body, your emotions, and your feelings! If something doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t right. Don’t shove those feelings aside, face them head on!

Ask yourself- What was I doing before I started feeling this way? Doing this can help you realize what triggered those emotions. Then you can begin to ask yourself Why you felt that way!

Having these feelings are normal, however you don’t want to get stuck in it for too long.

2.Me Time

I cannot stress the importance of this! Everybody needs ME TIME; the time to rejuvenate and feel like you just came back from a trip to the Caribbean! So, what does ‘Me Time’ mean to you? For me, it means- binging shows, reading books, writing a blog post, and let’s not forget retail therapy!!

3.Scents

The power of scents! I’m going to slyly put this in here, my sister & I started a health & beauty store where we sell candles, body butter and bar soaps (Check out our website here).

Starting this venture has exposed me to different scents and made me aware of how much they affect my mood! I love me some essential oils and perfumes and bathing myself (well not too much hunnie!) in different scents when I feel ‘meh’ uplifts my mood!

4.Being Transparent with God and my friends about how I feel

I’m not one to say ‘I’m fine’ when I’m not. I will give you the load down! LOL! Ever heard-

A Problem Shared is a Problem Halved’.

Have your key people who you can pour your feelings to in a judgment free zone! You could be amazed by how much better you would feel.

I also go to the one who gave me these emotions and feelings (God); I cry to him and tell him I feel overwhelmed, tired, or demotivated. He’ll probably nudge that friend to come give you a much-needed hug!

5.Being Grateful

Yes, you don’t feel great now, but what are the things that have happened in the past week that you are grateful for? Write them down, focus on the 90% of amazing things that have happened. It doesn’t have to be a milestone accomplishment what matters is that it happened! Here’s mine- Even though I feel overwhelmed with taking care of a teething infant, I’m grateful that he said ‘I love you’ to me for the first time! What are you grateful for?

I hope these few tips will help you whenever you are in a funk! Feel free to share more tips below!

Thanks for reading!

God Bless you Tremendously
